for wetting my car

http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-no-rinse.html

Really good shampoo and using a bucket with obviously!

found this to be excellent

This microfibre to dry the car off with.

For more info have a look at this site

i've been told that you better off waiting a month or so to let the paint harden up properly before putting anything wax like on.

I might just wait a month then and just keep washing it down to get the dirt off it.

If the bodyshop chemically cured and low baked it, then you can polish and protect it straight away without any problems (and it is best to do this, as then you will have protection in place against the elements). However, if it was not force cured, then you should indeed leave it for 30-60 days to fully degass and cure before polishing and protecting it. In terms of future care, getting a decent wash kit makes a lot of sense, as if you get the wash stage wrong then you will repidly swirl up the finish - not good. Wash kits like the ones on this link are worth considering...

...as is the use of pre-wash foam, which is explained here...

When it comes to choosing polish and protection products, please see the sticky guides at the top of the car care section for our views.

I painted mine and it was baked off but i still waited over a month the wax it,i washed it every week as normal but every other week gave it a coat of 3m perfect-it glaze for some protection.

I always advise to leave it a month but thats just to be 100% sure its fine.

Glazes (i.e. pure polishes with no abrasives) go on fine with microfibre pads, but if you are using a cutting polish then foam pads are better; these are excellent...

Should be okay, but it's far from ideal - new paint should be chemically cured and low baked by IR lamps wherever possible, as leaving fresh uncured paint unprotected for up to six weeks is a recipe for disaster (particularly if a bird craps on it during this period). No chance of getting it undercover somewhere indoors?

Be carful with car covers,if left to long paint could sweat up,meaning itll need buffing back up.
