Default Ebay... keep taking my money!!

I am soooo angry with Ebay & their crap customer support where you cant even phone them it’s a joke!! I have had a long drawn out problem with them, they think my account is £48 in arrears but I paid it five months ago with a direct payment from my bank account and thought that was the end of it until I noticed the following month another payment of £48 to Ebay International..

I tried to find a link to customer support on the Website (which is a job in itself) and sent them a snotty email asking what was going on.

Anyway about a week later I received a reply saying that they couldn’t see any payment on my account and could I send them a copy of my bank statement which I did.

Anyway to cut a long story short this has been ongoing for 5 months with them taking was is now £53 every month and claiming that they haven’t received my faxed bank statements ect ect.

My bank went even much help and wanted written notice to cancel the "monthly payment scheme" and that it would take 30 days from when they received the letter to put it in to effect. Anyway Ebay managed to put through another £53 while this was going on and they have now taken a total of around £250.. And im no closer to sorting it out!!

As if that wasn’t bad enough this morning I receive a letter from a debt collection agency informing me that Ebay are looking to recover there £53 and if I don’t pay them within 30 days debt collection procedings will be put in to effect!! I was fuming and gave the debt company a piece of my mind, the stupid thing is they don’t even have a phone number for Ebay just an email address.. What sort of business is this where you can’t speak to a person especially with money matters like this.

Anyway as you can imagine im not to impressed with Ebay and was wondering if this is an isolated incident?

It sure is apples, I could understand it these things do happen but to have such a shoddy customer support its beyond belief. In my email today I told them that WatchDog have shown interest in my story to try and get some action from them..

What happens is every time they run their billing system the money goes out of my account but that isn’t reflected on my account status so the problem rolls over another month etc ect.

Another development this morning is my wife as has an ebay account and she has received a letter from the dept recovery people asking her for the exact same amount £53.13 so it looks like there system just works on an address basis. She checked her ebay account this morning to be sure and she is £4.10 outstanding so it makes no sense at all.

What im worried about now is I could incur all sorts of charges from the dept recovery people as I have no proof that I paid the money, I have my bank statements showing a payment to ebay each month of course but that could be legitimate payments for all they know..

I think I am going to seek some legal advise with this as its getting out of hand now

hello Rudey, No ebay isnt free matey, they charge you a percentage of the money you make when you sell something , it just happend to be that I owed them about £48 when this problem all started.. I am writing them another email as we speak. Then im going on the BBC Watchdog website and am droppin them a line also
