Default help plz, s2 cradle mount and gearbox problem

my gearbox has had a slight whine for a while, but havnt got round to sorting it yet.
anyway my gearbox cradle mount was worn so i replaced the front one.
i got one that is very similar to old one but has a metal base instead of the rubber material.just went up the road in it and it seems that the whine from gearbox is louder and vibrations thru the car are quite bad.

do u think this mount could be the cause?seems strange that the gearbox sounds that bad.

If the mount is solid rather than rubber (base) then the vibrations will be alot worse throughout the car.

Obviously that doesn't explain the cause or reason you are getting the noise/vibration from your gearbox in the first place but it does explain why it now appears worse.

the new 1s i picked up from my local motorfacotrs not so long ago sound a lot like this, just exposed metal faces as opposed to them being coated in rubber, just the price u pay if u dnt go genuine or uprated

but yeah, will simply just be amplifying the vibrations and whining that was already apparent

but id sooner have a slightly louder noise rather than an engine smashing off my bonnet and a turbo through my rad
