Put a fresh built 1650 in my rs about a month ago an all has been well. It starting pinkin a little but like a dick i just ignored it as its going on the rollers at the end of the month. Yesterday i had a corsa up my arse an couldnt resist so i blew him away and half the valves in the head at the same time!
Got to take the head of it now and get it sorted before the end of the month
Back to walking an buses again!

Yeah mate its only on one cylinder but its still a fuckin pain
ive spent 3.5k in 9months on it and its sat on the drive not workin again. its becoming hard to justify owning it

I killed my first RST motor racing a Lotus Elise. Although with mine it was a valve that failed at the collet and dropped down into the combustion chamber where the piston embedded it in the head

He means detonating! If it's loud enough for you to here then it's bad, hence whats happened

 

He means there was to much boost, you know this because u can hear is going thro your full exhaust.

Would never waste my time racing shadows= corsa, gti, vtr, all that pish.

Live and learn i suppose. The car will be back up an running tonight, but i think i'll leave it until it goes to oddkid creations at the end of the month before i drive it anymore.
Any car can ''pink'' its could nothing to do with boost tho, its timing out. When the car comes on boost it will make it a lot worse though

Yes your right any car can 'pink' if the timing is out or if it is lean for any reason, and as you say for turbo charged cars it's a lot more dangerous because of the extra volume of gasses in the chambers when on boost. But also, even if the timing is correct on a turbo charged car increasing the boost without matching the fuelling will cause it to detonate without fail!

 

Yeah heard good things bout jano. I want it to be quick but safe and ive heard he's a genius with an rs turbo
