Default the police did it right for once... kind of

my dad had his range rover sport stolen a few months back, broke into the house took the keys along with lap tops and phones... and the biggest kitchen knife out of the draw :S the range was trackered, private plate and had 22 inch rims so it didnt blend in yet police and tracker lost it with in 48 hrs!!

first week of december we get a letter from birmingham police stating if we do not claim our car it would be crushed.. that arrived about the 5th! phoned them instantly and magically our range rover was parked on a suburban street in birmingham! it was still on the rims and still on the plate.. HOW THE HELL DID THEY NOT KNOW ITS A STOLEN CAR!! we dont even own it now its hot listed as we had been paid out so the insurance company own it.

but the police found our missing range rover .. kind of haha

cheers for reading but just felt like telling the story

ye$s range was fully insured rims declared we dont insure cars with out declared mods my dad runs a big company and wouldnt run the risk plus it is silly not too (im 19 and when i had my rs on the road i had it fully declared not worth the risk its not yourself if affects its everyone else thats involved if you have the accident) . the car didnt have a mark on it. police have recovered it for the insurance company.

and yes the 22s cost a lot but he has earned what he has ( well he had hahaha)

it was ok.. would say 20s on the new one make a nicer ride tho. 22s make it look like a drug dealers car more than a 4x4, drive it round town its nice motorway the 22s create road noise

From what I hear, more of these high-end cars are stolen and parked up for a while so that if Tracker does what it says on the tin, it won't lead the cops to the bad guys lair.

Wouldn't have thought they would leave it there that long, though.

Thats standard MO for nicking high end cars that are staying in UK.

you would normally disconect the battery incase a tracker is fitted , the built in battery's generally only last 48hrs.
i cant understand how it wasnt tracked if it was reported straight away ?? the only way i know to stop the trackers from working instantly is to put the car in a container , and that doesnt allways work as some trackers transmit a different radio style frequency aswell as a normal gps blip .

i dont know how they stopped the tracker working but we had many heated phone calls about the car with them not being able to find it. like what has been said they kept telling us it must be in a container.. wasnt expecting it to appear in birmingham still on hot plates! but all we can say now is atleast some deserving person will buy it and enjoy the car for what it is and its not got some scum bag driving about in it or it isnt in pieces in africa!

Tangodeltasierra3 i better get saving for 24s on my rs then lol
