Default left turn cossie issue

Can anyone help me with this very strange problem thats occuring on my escos? First of all the car starts, runs & goes fine. The problem occurs when i go round a left hand corner, the car just dies for a few seconds & then springs back into life as if nothings happend & its only left handers when it happens. I know this sounds strange but ive been out in the car for an hour today & it is definatly only left hand corners that cause the problem, the only time it doesnt do it is if i crawl round the corner at like 5mph. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Start up the engine, and start shaking bits of the loom to see if it dies.

Also, look at the fuse box (try moving that too) as that is a common problem on escos's

doesnt matter whether your foot is flat to the floor of no throttle at all, changed the coil back to the standard one and it still happens. The cap was left off the header tank and some water spilt into the engine bay, if water has got in somewhere what should be the first things i should check?

just drive in a straight line mate

electrical problem will be my guess; check the simple things first, cps would be a good place to start; then as flux says; start on the loom

Examine the condition of fuse 5 in the fuse box !!
It is a VERY common problem for this or the internal connections of the box to fail.
I had this on both my escos's.

You may need to bang it a bit to replicate the fault when standing still. !

check your rubber engine and gearbox mountings, especially as yours is a 4x4 its a well known failure point, usually drivers side next to the turbo -it could well be one is shot and in left hand corners your engine could actually be moving and putting a strain on part of the engine loom if its tight or held in place with a tie strap etc and causing a momentary disconnection then when your straight again the strain is reduced and the cable goes back into place

Been messing with the car again. Nothing wrong with the fuse box i have had it out in my hand and moved every single wire, checked number 5 fuse & thats fine. I have moved every connection under the bonnet whilst the car was running but nothing. I have just been out in it again and it only cuts out when i go round a big left hand corner. I could swerve the car side to side & nothing would happen. I could also go round a small left hand bend & its fine. It just seems to be any big left hand bend.

I seem to remember tank baffle issues as well on these cars when the fuel level was at a certain height starving the pump of fuel when cornered, why not try it with different fuel levels

There is half a tank of fuel in the car at the moment. Mite try fiiling it to the brim. I'll have a look at the MAP sensor tommorow. Martinembleton does yours stop doing it if you fill the tank?

I had this on my saph, take the loom connectors apart and dry them out. Its the big ones that are on bulkhead on 4wd saph(not sure where on escos)m or even better hardwire them by cuttin plugs off.

I'd say map too cos if they get wet there fooked,i chipped car and it ran fine, then i changed the cam belt so removed rad and drained water from header tank.
done the job and the car never ran rightchanged back to std and it was fine blamed the chip supplier and later found it was a faulty map which had water inside it

also blow the pipe out

I took the MAP sensor off, ran the car and moved the MAP sensor around does this mean its ok? surely if it did it driving round a left hand bend its going to do it if i tilt it side to side when the engine running.
