I gotta replace my rocker cover gasket, cos i think its leaking at the back near the inlet manifold, and ive seen on a car in PF (Twins Red S2) that has a rubber gasket instead of a cork one off of a 1800cvh has anyone else done this and what are the advantages??
no difference at all mate really except ones rubber and ones cork
People say the rubber one is better at sealing but as long as you put a line of silicone sealer on both sides before fitting it the cork one will work just as well
Tip, if you get a cork one, get it from ford as there ones have little metal inserts in them to stop you over tightening and breaking the gasket.
