I've just had another look and it still won't start.
what i've found out is the fuel lines were the wrong way round ( was getting dark, lol).
i've change the crank sensor with a 4x4 one i had. what's the gap supposed to be for the crank sensor?? it's 0.4mm at the minute
there is plenty of pressure to the fuel reg now
there is a good spark to the plugs but they are dry when i've removed them after i've tried to start it. so i don't think the injectors are working???

what could that be??
i've fitted the engine from a 2wd saph

Yes cause it might get mixed signals cause it´s to close
Is the cabels mounted correct?
1 3 4 2 in that order on the dizzy?

How long have the injectors been stood ?

Petrol leaves a gooey residue when it dries out and this is a common causes of injectors sticking...... I always run the injectors through a cleaning cycle on the machine before i store them...

yes they are. i think its a fuel problem because the plugs should have been wet if it was a spark problem.

what does the crank sensor control?
what controls the injectors?

Also check the phase sensor as well as the crank sensor, are the phase and crank sensors plugged into the correct plugs ?.......it`s an easy mistake to make when reconnecting the loom

i've just had another look. i've got the crank sensor at 1mm now and check the crank sensor and phase sensor plugs in case they are the wrong way round but they are colour coded white and black.
i've took the injectors out the manifold but kept them in the rail, i turned it over and there is'nt much petrol flowing out. just spitting little bit.

any one know someone in the north east that can have a look??

i think it's a fuel problem.
there's pressure before the regulator but it's not filling the rail up. i've tried a few different regulators and it still won't fill up.
how do they work???

the petrol feed does go to the bottom of the regulator and no direct to the fuel rail?

No mate, the pump feeds the rail directly via the fuel filter and the regulator controls the flow back to the tank out the bottom of it .

Does the pump run ?

Well thats your problem then... Double check it !!!

The regulator will only allow fuel to flow one way !!

as above, the fuel regulator keeps the pressure up in the rail then releases it to the tank.
you must have the fuel from the tank direct to the rail.
