what cam choice is good for gt30 turbo anyone?

only know its gt30 with .63 housing ... close to 500 maybe

The 3076 and the 3071 are very different animals, so worth finding out which you have (similar difference really to a T4 and a T34 or a T34 and a T3)

was told its good for about slightly over 500 plus hp.

Probably a GT3076 then.

Do you have headwork?
I suspect you will find it surges without.

its a gt3076 with .60 yes head is ported and engine is balanced with tubular manifold and swedish plenum. with 1000cc injectors

BD14 inlet and standard exhaust. Is it going on a standard head and does the turbo have a ported shroud?

Ported shroud is a modification on the turbo to help reduce surge.

As per what Rich said, a BD14 inlet and a standard exhaust will be good at that level.
