looking for a laptop
The one i'm posting on at the mo was a reconditioned one from PC world, good spec for the price, you would never know it wasn't a brand spanker, may be worth a look? i think it depends what they have in at the time
This is a good spec for the money.

Or, if you dont like that for whatever reason then Ebuyer do some very good ones http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144181
You should look out for wireless, and usb ports(the more the better as alot of devices require usb nowa days) and obviously if you have a wireless router in your house wireless is a must, but you should get one with wireless anyway as its great to have
Dont get anything with a screen smaller than 15" unless you want something ultra portable/light, as web browsing on a small screen can get abit annoying personally, thats about it.
Either two we have posted will be ideal

I have no problem with vista, have it on 3 laptops and they work perfectly all the time, when was the last time Windows Update ran? Did you install any new software and then had the problems?

Sorry to hijack the thread btw
DONT even entertain PC world....
go to www.ebuyer.com - they got laptops from £200 right up to £1000+ ones, something for everyone - you'll pick up a nice one and have some change left over
PC world will rape you for the laptop, a laptop bag, plus support, plus software blah blah blah

I swear i type in invisible text sometimes
The ones that ME and LEEROY put up are ideal.
Pcworld arent that good, yes, BUT the one leeroy put up is very well spec'd for the price, your getting ALOT for your money.
The two you put are no where near as good as the one leeroy put it, so dont bother with those.
If your want one from pcworld then it needs to be core 2 duo and at least 2GBs of ram, and around 200GBs hard drive space.
Or look on the link i provided, that is also a very good make/spec, your getting free delivery AND you'll get £10 change

It all depends on what you want the laptop for? gaming? or like 90% of people just the odd word document and internet browsing?
if its the latter then the pc is going to do sod all work, so you arent going to need the latest and fastest computer. i would be looking for a well known brand (can't go wrong with hp/compaq) with the most RAM, forget processor speed as you wont notice it as much as ram (vista is very memory intensive so 2gb min)
