Default 1.7 puma engined fiesta help

Me and a mate have just put a 1.7 puma engine in his w reg zetec s fiesta.

we have replaced the engine loom with a puma one too. the fiesta has digital clocks and 2 plugs in the under bonnect fuse box and the puma loom is the same.

we have everything plugged up but when you crank the engine over it will not start. there is No spark and the injectors don't fire. I plugged my OBD machine into it to read the data and as soon as you crank the engine over the OBD machine losses its connection untill you stop cranking.

From this i can only expect that when cranking the engine over the ecu is losing its power feed or something along thoughs lines.

anyone have any ideas?

thanks

mike

Battery????

Starter fucked?

Is the red light on the clock flashing?

Have you fitted the chip from the puma key into the Fiesta key to sort the imobilisor out?

i thought that it cut ECU power , my old escort would crank , but not fire

have you got the transpondor for the imobilisor out of the Puma , not sure what it loks like on them , but it reads the key code and sends it to the imobilisor. 1 key , 1 transpondor , the 2 wont match i dont think

could still be the chip in the key if there is one,i know on a few cars the engine will still swing over but wont start, maybe try holding the fiesta key on the puma key when you swing the car over that way the chip will be picked up by the reciever unit

Just changed the starter and it still will not start.

i have a working 1.7 puma fiesta so i tryed his ecu on my car with his key and my car starts nd runs first flick of the key,

i have also tryed my crack possition sersor in it and it will not run at all,

im almost posertive that the starter is stealling the ecu's power and when the starter is being cranked the ecu shuts down.

have you reset the fuel cut off in the passenger footwell above the diagnostic port
