Whats the max boost standard 1.6 cvh turbo rods can take????? Ive got cosworth racing pistons but standard rods.

i think nick from PF is running 20/25psi on standard pistons and rods so...

I ran 26psi on standard rods, no issues in the 15k I put on the engine

Im runnin 18psi at the mo but dont know if i turn the boost up when i put my bigger injectors in its going to blow itcomp ratio is 7.95.1 if that helps???

This was spec, engine was rebuilt before I bought it so can't tell you the comp is sorry


Power engineering Low comp 1600cc CVH, +0.5 oversized Mahle Pistons, Lightened and balanced, with machined flywheel, ARP big end bolts
Power engineering stage 3 big valve head +1.5mm oversized inlet and +1.0mm exhaust valves; gas flowed, ported and polished, with matching inlet
Piper 285T Cam
Piper Vernier pulley
Double valve springs
Anti Pump lifters
Genuine Ford head gasket and head bolts
Stage 3 oil cooled Cosworth spec hybrid turbo 55 trim wheel with a 48-exhaust housing
-31 Actuator
3 Way Bleed Valve
Power Engineering Chip
Rev limiter raised to 7200rpm
Aquamist MF2 5th Injector using Cosworth green injector
Baileys DV26 dump valve
K&N Induction filter
Pace large front mounted intercooler with reverse charge carrier
Samco and Roose Motorsport silicon hoses
NGK 9 plugs
Ford Motorsport leads
Cosworth Fuel pump
Deflex poly bush kit
Baileys Header-tank and oil separator

fuck me mate 18psi on blues i would be VERY carefull i maxed mine out @ 6psi

19psi and at one point we were revving to 7700rpm!

I know mate i think thats what the det noise is,got a set of light greens the other day but dont know what hp there good for.any ideas??

Revs did indirectly cause it to break yes, but it was technically me being a chump that killed it!

I 'may' have slightly over revved it whilst on a spirited drive....

i no i remember jamie telling me you held it in 3rd a bit to long i was gutted when it went bang you got great power out of it.

The current one is doing even more! It made 265bhp on the limiter at 19.5psi!

cool mate he got mine upto just over 261@16psi, he's in the middle of my new 2.1 st170 turbo lump cant wait to see what he gets out of that
ps if i remember correct it was only a rod bolt that faild
