Default anyone know about tarmacing

hi guys just had my drive tarmaced, not by pikeys but reputable firm , all along the work was spot on, good base dug out, decent hardcore etc then good base of tarmac, but when it came to laying the topcoat it was laid in 2 halfs and you can see a noticable join down the middle is this the norm as it really lets the job down ,and i,m going to complain ,but i need to get some facts first,
drive is 8 metres by 8 metres by the way

Should go down in one hit.

Sure they weren't Looky-Likeys ???

For future ref, tell-tale signs are:

A accent only understood by fellow caravan dwellers
Large discount for cash offered ( still unsure of 1st price quoted )
A request for Ł200 up front
Cross bred dog sat perched on centre Transit seat
A work crew including a ruddy nosed 15 stone man called Pat
Tools= 2 shovels, barrow & a tamping plate (which never leaves van)
Neighbours reporting garden furniture etc disapearing
Tarmac arriving in tipper identical to those of nearest road works
A offer to rectify vital house repairs you didn't know you needed
Lastly a helter-skelter shaped drive after 2 weeks use
3mths later cracks resembling the London Undergound map
