Ford KA Rev-Counter
Hey guys, i was wondering if it is possible to fit a tachometer to a 2002 (52 plate) Ford KA, and if so, how easy would it be? i know you can fit a PDA to a OBD-II port and useing some software can get an RPM reading, but i was wondering if you can fit an acctual RPM gauge inside, and then how would that be connected to the engine?... if anyone knows, i would appreciate your input, and thanks in advance

Craig.
Older KA's had a smaller dash and had the option of a rev counter in one air vent, not sure what age it changed at but newer ones have a bigger dash and can have a rev counter as per rich pic. that may well fit in a 52 plate
Being a 52 you should have the 1.3 Duratec I think. If so the dash B9KOS has got would do the job.If its an endura you wont be able to use it.Contact Burton and they'll do you an Elliot one, they know which one you need so just tell them its for a Ka.Mines and 02 but came with an Endura

Thanks guys. Nah, no duratec for me... mine has the old endura-e, as it was made just before they started useing the duratec... so it has the older instument cluster, so the new one wont fit as its too big.. but never mind
Thanks for all of yah inputs, its much appreciated
Edit: On another note... does anyone here know at what RPM's the old Endura-E red-lines at?
And where / how does the tacho connect to the engine?
Thanks in advance

The newer one will fit,it just wont work.It only revs up to about 5k or 5.5k RPM.I've not fitted one myself as I didn't see the point on that engine. You could try on MyKa.org as a few others have them on enduras.
