Always fancied seeing the Pyramids/Sphinx/Tombs etc so where would the best place in Egypt to go? Would it be Luxor? Except for the history etc whats the actual place like? Nice hotels etc?
Cheers

My landlord went with his g/f about 10 yeasr ago.
He did not shit up about it for months afterwards, said it was easily the best place he had ever been, and he has been all over the place as he was a roustabout before that.

Cheers guys, to be honest a cruise wouldnt really interest me to be honest!! Sharm El Sheikh (sp) looks nice but dont think there there are pyramids in that part?
All inclusive resorts are a better way to go at a place like this isnt it?

Chris - I'm looking at going there with the missus nest year too...
I'm prob looking at staying in Sharm El Sheikh - from what I've heard you can get excursions to the Valley of the Kings from there (flying of course as its a fair way) reasonably easily.. - need to do some more research on it in the new year to book it fairly soon...

we went to sharm last summer, fantastic beach, coral reef's, warm sea full of nice fish to snorkell and dive with, and the weather was immense too
we landed at the begining of august around 19:30 and it was 37 deg C
tanfastic
going back in january if all goes to plan
all inclusive is the best way imo, as theres not a load of things to do off resort, unless you go on excursions to the pyramids/tombs etc.
Naama Bay is close to Sharm El Sheikh, bars, restaurants, casino's etc.

I proposed in Egypt Oct 07 and we loved the place!
We stayed at the Hyatt Regencey in Sharm, was Top class, but expensive..... I wouldnt entertain any other hotel when we go again tho, as it was worth the Extra!!!
Next time i;ll do 4 days by the Nile & pyramids, and 6 nights in Sharm....
You'll love it!

Went in october this year to sharm, 37 - 40 deg everyday, great weather and the sea was fantastic, swimming with the marine fish is something i will never forget but then again neither is the food, i stayed away from anything i would class as suspect and still got ill and lost 3 or 4 days of my holiday with gastroenteritous (spelling) bad stomach. We were all ill at some point and not even right for about 2 weeks after returning.
We stayed at the sunrise island view in sharm 5 star, right on the beech, the brochures look great, all inclusive, pool bar, beach bar etc, reality is that its a muslim country and the all inclusive beer is like soap water and the cocktails were un-drinkable, we ended going into sharm to the hardrock cafe which was great.
Food wise we felt they catered for the russians and germans etc so the food choice was limited and boring after 2 weeks, and can i add from expirience the russians are the most arrogant arseholes ive ever met.
The excursions are expensive and sharm is a long way from cairo, different continents even, asia and africa, the flights to either the valley of the kings or cairo were £600 for 4 of us or you could go by bus which would take you 6 hours and cost £175, then 6 hours back.
Would i go back, no, it cost me in total nearly 4k and i have enjoyed mainland spain more in the past and at least you can eat without worrying.
This was only my expirience and and you may well enjoy it but i went there and thought i would be amazed but found it to be very basic compared to some of the other places ive been.
