what boost can these turbo's run (safely) ..?????.......at the mo i run a 30psi spike then hold 27/28psi, i know that with head work i'll make more power with the same boost, but i was wondering what pressure u can push out of them.........cheers Pete
Im sure Kelv said he use to run a 36psi spike , think thats what i will be asking Alan to try on mine when it gets mapped. Ultimately it will be getting left up to Alan but my engine can take what ever the T38 can give we already know that so will go with the max he feels safe for the turbo.
From what i have been told most of the harvey 440 conversions boost to around 27psi if they are on greys as they start to lean off over that. Would think that atleast 32psi should be no problem with bigger injectors.

Yep, as Neil said - mine ran upto 36psi at 3400rpm, and then held 32-33psi.
when we tried it on an MSD chip and Sheady gave the car a quick once over, it managed to spike to 38psi and still no sign of any problems or any detonation, but we capped it back to 36psi as thats where it had initially been when first setup by Steve Scott.
UT T38 imo is an awesome turbo if setup to compliment the rest of the engine
Engine had a compression of 7.6:1, standard Cams, very mild head work, EEC1V inlet, 2wd manifold and airs running on greys.
no idea what power it ever made but i did love the way the engine performed
