Default CAT C Salvage?? VIC check.

seen a saphy cos on cat c and needs a vic check,
is there any dangers in buying a car that needs a vic check?
any information welcome.

Not if it's straight.....

They know what damage was on the vehicle so know where to check for repair, they check chasis and engine numbers well (good luck on engine number on most cars nowadays).

I had 1 done a few years ago and all went ok.

just had a vic test done in liverpool and they didnt check engine numbers,gud job realy as the engine was replaced but appart from that and gettin told to remove the tint from the driver and pass windows they were ok and no problems were found pretty straight forward realy

Ive had a few cars VIC checked, never had a problem. As long as its substantially repaired and the vin numbers match you'll be fine.

You can drive it there as long as its MOT'd and insured, no tax needed. All the VIC check does is ensure its not a ringer.

Once its done you can go right to DVLA and tax it, done this a few times as well. Just don't go in the car uve just VIC'd unless the DVLA office is on ya way home.
