Default ST24 Remapping, worth it or not anyone had it done?

Getting quite a varied response to whether its worth having my ST24 remapped or not.some say its not worth it as the power and performance gains will be hardly noticable, others say its worth it and have had it done and can notice a difference.I would like some real help on this as i was thinking of booking it in at Motorsports Developments(OF COARSE) and getting it done by the lads.SOME PROFFESIONAL HELP AND ADVICE WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RECIEVED AND APPRECIATED.

> CURRENT MODS ARE= Huge stainless Cosworth air filter, large bore induction kit, larger modified throttle body, full stainless exhaust with decat, two direct cold air feeds 1 from pipe other from bonnet scoop...HOPE THIS INFO HELPS.

The filter and throttle body will aid air intake and the decat will help with the exhaust gases. People have been known to gain from having a chip with only these mods to help sort the fuelling out. But in most cases the standard ECU will sort it out adequetly.

Its up to you if you want to spend the money but dont expect too many gains from those changes. The best way forward would be to get hold of an ST200 upper and lower inlet manifold to really sort the intake out.

A proper remap would help but a chip is just a bodge.

It depends a lot on ones defintion of "worth".
If your fuelling etc were perfect(for max power) you would not see any gains for a lot of money, if as is very likely they no longer are perfect for max power, as ford do not write programs this way you could see a very noticeable gain certainly in driveability, may only be 10 bhp(example) but is it worth the outlay, that is up to you and your wallet.

Hi,
You doing it the right way, having done most of the mods to get most out of the ST24. I have BLUEFIN on mine and it did improve the driveability, but you won't see any top end improvement. Dreamscience also do a plug in map, which has 3 levels of tune, bit better than BLUEFIN, but the best is always a dedicated map to your car, as all ST24s are not the same, and as you have done most of the main mods, you will benefit.

When I got my BLUEFIN years back, Dreamscience weren't around, but they are quite big now. What I liked about the BLUEFIN was you can set it back to original settings when you want and it will also show you ECU fault codes, but depends what you want.
