Default 2.1 zetec turbo build

so ! after 6 months of driving a 2lt zvh im wanting more power so im building myself a 2.1 zetec turbo and going for 300bhp (hopefully)
old engine and gearbox have been taken out and i have now got myself a stage 3 t3 with ceramic 360 degree bearning cut back impella blades etc etc this thing is as big as a t3 can get , big intercooler from a renault scenic of all things low comp bottom end with calibra turbo pistons and a lightened and skimmed flywheel then it'll be chucked back in ready for the head to go on , also got a custom made exhaust of my mates escos rep to go on so should be sounding even sweeter when its running - few pics so far -

2.1 block

calibra turbo pistons -

and my stage 3 t3 -

new intercooler - compared to old one

sump -

2.1 zetec turbo !

uprated clutch and clutch plate

mtx box before being cleaned up

car full of bits

and a empty bay

not doing much today due to the shite weather and its cold

gearbox all painted up , looks miles better i rekon , also primed up my zetec rocker ready for painting undecided on the colour tho ...

Cool project

What made you go for the zvh over the fullzetec in the first place?

Were you not happy with the zvh?

Get a few bits done whilst the engine is apart. Head ported and cams

That looks like a mondeo water pump if so you want the escort / fiesta one as they run the oposite way, engine looks good

The ones in the photos above are the N/A astra pistons, which people use for ZVH engines. Not really suitable for a zetec turbo as the compression ratio ends up way too high

If it is true what the people above have said about your pistons then surely your compression ratio will be too high?
