Default torque wrench settings

Hi

dose anyone know the torque setting in Nm for the big-end bearing caps and main bearing caps for a escort rs turbo?

30Nm for big end caps, 95Nm for Main caps.

hi mate the setting 4 the mains all of these are from the haynes cvh rebild and tuning manual

main bearing caps 90-100 nm
con rod bolts 30-36 nm
flywheel to crank 82-92 nm
crank pully 100-115nm
that is for standard bolts if there arpones thay will habe the settings in the packet

hope thats a help if u need any more i have them all

As in you cannot turn the crank using a spanner? Or it turns freely but the starter motor won't spin?
Assuming you mean the former then check your bearing clearances, sounds like the shells might be nipping the crank.

Did you use standard shells or oversized and also did the shells go in dry or wet, as Karlos pointed out will it turn by hand at all

i think even with dry bearings it will spin and also torque settings won't make the problem. It's more likely that one of your measurements went quite wrong. Wrong bearings i would say
