Not for me, but someone I know was messing about with his, he reckons its stopped working, it all powers up, lights switches etc.. but when you try and start the platter nothing happens.
Now I asked him if he's sure he hasnt fucked about with it, and he said all he can remember than might be a cause is trying to start the motor with the platter removed, he reckons it says in the manual NOT to do this ever, so I'm assuming its got a magnet on it and is part of the drive for the motor.
Anybody who knows these inside out on here? I know there are a few budding Dj's knocking around.

the magnet is the underside of the platter ... and yes it can burn out the coils under the top cover of the turntable, or the pulse controlling chip so i have just been told

When he'd fitted the arm he tried starting it up to check everything was alright, totally forgetting about the platter, now it dont work.
It worked fine before he swapped the arm.
doesn't look good mate. if you type in technics spares on ebay there is a few people/firms who repair them and servce them. cheaper than taking it to technics!
Or it might be better sticking it on ebay as faulty and just buying another. i fancied a 3rd deck so bought a Mint mk3 for £200
