or did he turn it on when platter was removed, a while ago. And now this has happend?? it could be the stop/start button.
He had it apart to fit a new arm, but seeing as the arm isnt connected to the power side at all he doesnt think he's damaged anything that way.
When he'd fitted the arm he tried starting it up to check everything was alright, totally forgetting about the platter, now it dont work.
It worked fine before he swapped the arm.
