standard boost on erst
Maybe getting psi and bar confused mate. 7 or 8 psi is only around 0.5 bar. (possibly thinking of 0.7/0.8 bar?)
Pretty sure it's 0.6-0.7 bar standard, which equates to just around 10/11psi.
Chipped cars normally run around the 1bar (14.7 psi) mark unless they are heavily modified and can run 1.4 bar (20 psi+)

The boost limiter is 10/11 psi
Yup, 7/8 PSI standard.
To check if its chipped, you could remove the ECU and check if the seal is broken...if so its likely it is chipped, so could remove the cover and check the chip itself to see if it gives much away.

Get it done by someone that knows what they're doing, Jamie at Jamiesport
would be my recommendation.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO IT YOURSELF.
IT WILL GO BANG IF YOU DO.
Ok it'll cost you £150 but it won't go bang and it'll be a lot better to drive
and more fuel efficient as well.

I set mine to 16psi on "standard" ecu a few years back, fuck me that chattered loud
Probably didn't do much good, set it back to 10psi in the end, then went to powers and got it setup properply, 14psi boost, 155bhp on standard i/c

How could you set it to more than 10/11 psi on standard ECU as the boost cut function would kick in and not allow it to pass 10/11psi?
disconnect the hose to the ECU? - but then it wouldnt know when to fuel on boost?
Not sure off to pof my head mate. Something ot do with adjusting some bits and bobs. I have an old brochure from PE which gives some write-up about their 150 BHP conversion, but they definately don't chip the car. I don't have the brochure to hand tho...
