Maybe getting psi and bar confused mate. 7 or 8 psi is only around 0.5 bar. (possibly thinking of 0.7/0.8 bar?)

Pretty sure it's 0.6-0.7 bar standard, which equates to just around 10/11psi.
Chipped cars normally run around the 1bar (14.7 psi) mark unless they are heavily modified and can run 1.4 bar (20 psi+)
