Default Clutch/GearBox Whine???

When i put my foot on my clutch it starts to whine, then when i release the clutch it stops th whining and when imdriving dosnt seem to whine anymore.
I'm pretty sure that it whines when i put my foot down on the clutch regardless if its in gear or not.

Any ideas,im think clutch release bearing but what does that actually mean lol.

You sure the noise is not the other way round ?

Clutch release bearing is the bit that sits on the output shaft of the gearbox and pushes the clutch fingers. What car is it ? It could be hydraulic and slightly dry

Release bearing should stop whining when you press the clutch pedel slightly. Thats what mine did on my old car anyway.
