Not as much as that i dont think?

My mate done one, solid week driving, then a test, and he passed first time. Probably worth it if you have the lump sum and know the basics already.

Should make these illigal imho as they are only aimed at teaching the person to pass the test with no regards on teaching them to drive safely which is why we have so many wankers on the road injuring other people.

the intensive course is the lessons,you spend a week driving with a qualified instructor covering all aspects of driving,at the end of the week you take your test......Pass plus ISN'T included to my knowledge,you have to do motorway driving for that

Not at all, with normal driving lessons,people have like 1 a week,come the next lesson they spend half of their time remembering what they did last time and the level of progress is very very slow,which is why it takes people months to be considered ready for a test....on these courses you just drive and drive and drive,and you learn everything that you need to know,then when it comes to the test you can do the manouevres because there fresh in the mind.

They are good and work out how much you spend on lessons it coudl work out cheaper if your crap
i spent

12 lessons at £15ph = £180
Test= £50
Theory=£40

Total £270

So not worth it for me

I did a week crash course years ago and failed it cos i had too many bad
habits, which came from barraling around my mates farm in a Chevette with
welded doors .. .

So speed was an issue on my lessons ..lol.

I think they are good for people who can sort of drive already.

But for people that have nooooo idea i think they can be dangerous.

But then again people can learn for ages and still be crap !

Because these courses usually state a specific time frame for the course they do not teach according to the ability of the driver or at the pace that the learner driver achieves these skill rushing through a fixed template... Do you believe these companys extend the courses if you are not ready ?, most do not, they simply put you in for the test at the end and if you fail then further tuition costs are discussed.

I used to work for one such company which actually has private land laid out as a road scheme complete with roundabout and lights. It did and still continues to offer lessons to people not yet old enough to hold a provisional licence... The reason that they did this was so that the driver could take the test as soon as they reach the legal age.
This was in the days prior to the 'theory test' so im not aware of the situation now with this company but when I worked for them I saw people who had never driven on a public road before doing so for the first time on the way to the test centre... which is wrong.

The driving test should be made a lot harder imho... its should include motorway driving for a start.

pikey driving lessons have gone up a little now mate,,,,, 24 quid a hour the fuckers charge now

the crash course is pointless,,,,,, 20 lessons of 1.30 each week and practise with a mate and you will be a better driver

dont pay in advance either as the instructor wont long out his lessons incase you dont come back,,,,, i used to be made to pay in advance for all my lessons and the bitch used to keep calling me to rebook due to issues,,,,, thqts when i went to a PROPER SCHOOL and passed my test

my missus is doing lessons now and 1.30 seems to be enough time,,,, shes had 1 lesson and ive let her drive my 325i bmw a few times and she aint stalled it once

their saying you'll have to do so many hours of lessions before you can apply for your test, sort of like what you have to do for a pilots licence, which i thinks a really good idea but no doubt people will find a way round it.

RST the guy who tought me's really good (tought all my brothers and a few of my mates as well) i'm not sure he does full week courses but he may do bulk lessions for you.

your in the romford area aint you? i can give you his number if you want.

I sat a crash course when a was home on leave from the army and it cost me al together £500 (thats including test fees and sending for liscence upgrade etc)

was cheaper in the long run for me but suppose it jus depends on each drivers abilities to pick up quickly on driving

My sister did this, the toughest thing was actually finding an instructor who could find time for a crash course. Most instructors are booked in for regular once or twice a week lessons so can't find the time.

In the end she found one and would literally be out all day for a few days a week. Expensive but he'd take her to McDonalds for lunch and stuff.

For a proper crash course I'd expect to travel, they don't seem common at all.

I do crash courses, the amount of lessons needed vary's from pupil to pupil depending on how well they can already drive or how well they can pick things up.

Dan i charge £20ph NOT £15

But even that's quite cheap compared to other company's that charge on average £25 ph.
