Not at all, with normal driving lessons, people have like 1 a week, come the next lesson they spend half of their time remembering what they did last time and the level of progress is very very slow, which is why it takes people months to be considered ready for a test....on these courses you just drive and drive and drive, and you learn everything that you need to know, then when it comes to the test you can do the manouevres because there fresh in the mind.
Because these courses usually state a specific time frame for the course they do not teach according to the ability of the driver or at the pace that the learner driver achieves these skill rushing through a fixed template... Do you believe these companys extend the courses if you are not ready ?, most do not, they simply put you in for the test at the end and if you fail then further tuition costs are discussed.

I used to work for one such company which actually has private land laid out as a road scheme complete with roundabout and lights. It did and still continues to offer lessons to people not yet old enough to hold a provisional licence... The reason that they did this was so that the driver could take the test as soon as they reach the legal age.
This was in the days prior to the 'theory test' so im not aware of the situation now with this company but when I worked for them I saw people who had never driven on a public road before doing so for the first time on the way to the test centre... which is wrong.

The driving test should be made a lot harder imho... its should include motorway driving for a start.
