Default LCD pc moniter with TV tuner?

right i saw one of these for a decent price in the shop, now if i got this would i need to have the pc turned on to watch tv? (i dont think i would but not 100% sure) and also can i view sky digital on it? i guess the question is would it have a scart connection because thats how sky is connected to my tv/ vcr.

Basically if i can view sky AND the tv(so its like a normal tv set) without having the pc on then i may invest in this and then i can do away with my HUGE jvc tv set and save heaps of room

If it's the same as my brother has you will need a tv tuner card in your pc, then that connects to the sky box, then you can switch between monitor and tv, not sure if the pc has to be on to watch tv tho, someone else maybe able to help better

crap i forgot about the tv card id need to buy for the pc, stuff that idea then, just thought i could use it as a moniter for my pc and then just hook the tv Ariel in and my scart socket for sky and that would be it? i thought the whole idea of having a built in tv tuner was not needing a tv card in your pc? surly you dont need a tv card AND this tuner built into the moniter

Could you not just put an aerial in the back of the monitor and then switch inputs for the PC?

So you would have an aerial plugged in as per a normal TV, and a VGA cable plugged in as per a normal PC and just switch the AV on the TV / Monitor?

Oops just read your post above I think you're right, if not take it back

if its got a built in RF tuner, you dont need a TV card, and it'll switch between VGA and TV.

if it's a dual TV it'll PROBABLY have a composite / S video / SCART input on it too, but double check, as it MAY only have an RF connector which means you couldnt connect your DVD / STB to it

well it defo said TV tuner, so thats that part answered

Im just thinking though because ive also got a vcr id want to connect to it so thats another scart socket, but then if it has at least one scart socket i could get one of those adapters that lets you plug a few devices into one
