Hi all, am soon to be wiring up a series2 engine into an orion, E plate.

Heard about a 3 wire trick, but whats the other/best way? using the loom etc

Have the turbo loom and the orion loom complete.

The three wire trick refers to the Orion Mk2's which ran the EFi fuel system. Your E plate if a fuel injection model will be MFi and as a result the wiring looms are completely different. The best/quickest way is to fit the whole Escort loom and then extend the wiring for the central locking and rear lights. You could try intergrating the Escort engine bay loom with the Orion's original interior loom for the more factory finish approach but that is quite alot of work. I know the guy that did mine did it this way and ended up cursing it a few times. Good luck with the conversion though. Nice to see another Orion mk2 turbo in Essex

It's me mates onion, Ill be doing the welding when it comes to it, rear arch areas etc, and of course now be fitting the whole wiring loom

I take it the escort loom will fit 99% of all the orions bits n bobs, fan, lights etc ?

Well i used RS loom up till just before drivers door. Just cut them and joined them up. All the wires from both looms are the same colour for each function so its just a case of joining them back up.
