Sean Bicknell! never ending enthusiasm for cars and motorsport. Builds his own cars, races them and buys some seriously BLING road cars as well. Knows his stuff about pretty much all things cars
Obviously Martin as well... but if you work with cars then I think its a bit different.
Renton is without any question of a doubt the biggest car modifying KID on here!!!! If he was down to his last £20 in the world and it came down to buying something for him and his family to eat or buying a set of cheap m3 mirrors he spotted on Ebay for his WIFES Subaru... it would be the mirrors

I dont actually agree with the above particuarly being more into cars than many others on here, like I dont see any of those as any more "into" cars than for example XRstu who has a shitty fiesta, they just happen to have more money.
I think a lot of people on here are hardcore petrol heads, and often its a very disjoint set from the people who have the nice cars (although i agree that those people are certainly in the intersection)

Sean once popped down to MSD for the day to check the map on his car and returned a week later....
Funnily enough he got divorced not long after that!
2 things say petrol head to me. The value of there cars proportionate to the value of their houses and what magazines are next to their toilet....
Most men will have a FHM or loaded... maybe an EVO...
Sean has 100's of copies of Race car engineering, a mag so technical, Patrick Head gets confused reading it.

I think a good 'yard stick' as to how big a petrol head you are is the amount of PERSONAL TIME (ie outside working hours) spent doing 'car stuff'. Be it working on cars, reading about them, talking about them, surfing the web, blowing the wife out, etc. etc. plus any bonus points, such as Shonky specifically buying a house because it has a workshop and gates at the side so he can drive all his cars into his rear garden - which is Tarmac'd rather than grass!!!!!
I took wife and child to a Porsche track day at Combe the other week just to look at cars. And we're off to Donnington on Sunday, again, wont actually be driving on track. I don't think any 'non petrol head' chooses to spend his November weekends doing stuff like that! And how many people do you know who chose to drive 5000 miles in for their honeymoon?!

Practiaclly all my mates are exactly like that
Just sounds kind of "normal" for someone with an interest in cars, but maybe thats a sign im in too deep.
I dont really do much in my life at all that doesnt involve cars one way or the other, got two jobs that are both car related, spend all my spare time around cars, either working on them or trackdays or whatever, its where all my disposable income goes etc, and that just seems "normal" to me in the circles i move in.

I joined the Airforce so I could play with jet engines
, I got my bike licence, car licence, and my private pilots licence, 3 cossies,
, and looking for a fourth
, most of my spare time is spent messing about with mates cars, And like Garath, I have to stop my self talking about castor angles and fuel pump flow rates as you can see people drifting off when you talk to them
I think 90% of people on here are serious petrol heads, and I mean that term to cover anything with an engine, as I for one am fascinated with anything mechanical or electrical

Actually, i am inclined to agree as this reminded me what Sean got up to whilst he was here that week, and teh pain he went though at the pod when he left.

thanks I would say that I'm a seriously infected petrol head and if there's anyone else that spends more time thinking of,reading about or doing things to performance cars & engines then i feel sorry for them!!
I spend 99.9% of my spare time doing things to cars or looking at them or parts of them
Elliott however (my 3 year old) is worse than me and spends all his time under his 'dumper truck' trying to fix it with his plastic tool set
Either that or he is outside knicking my spanners and wanting to fix daddys cars so i suspect he is a serious but young petrol head

I just bore the shit out of everyone I speak to about cars and all things related till they refuse to speak to me!!! LOL
I do take pause for sleep, and for work to pay for more car junk

I'd like to consider myself a somewhat Petrol Head. I may not be a mechanic or have the skills of one but I am very passionate about cars and namely the RS Cosworth line. I don't know many people that would convince his g/f (mine at the time LOL) to take a holiday to the UK Just to go see a car show that only last for one day!
Yep, that was me back in 2001 going to Ford Fair. I've never been to the UK before and Ford Fair was my reason of finally coming over. I've there at least twice sometimes 3 times a year since then! This year I had to skip it all because I'm a new dad but I'm not done.
Not only that... I also own one of only a handful of 3dr's in this country.
So mechanic skills to do what Martin or Mark do? Nope,
Mapping skills like Stu? Nope,
Awesome driver like Porkie or Sean? Nope (at least not yet)
Love for these car? 100% without a doubt! That doesn't mean I don't like the others though? Not at all, I love all fast cars!..I'd love to have a big shop and learn to work on my own cars... One day.
