Pics of my "O" ringed inlet manifold........cool
OK, positive post now......Ahmed just emailed these pics of my "O" ringed inlet manifold - this is the proper way to do it, as the "normal" paper gaskets are blown outwards by the boost -
AFAIK only Grove/Ahmed do it this way (among Cossie tuners).
Looks normal enough........

But close up shows CNC machined grooves for the neoprene sealing rings that will be fitted:

Ditto the plenum face piece.....

Precission work.......

Good for high boost and long for trem reliability..........also no need to buy any more gaskets......reuseable neoprene/or cheap to replace anyway

Thanks,
The OE paper gaskets were a real pain.......kept blowing out.....then I'd notice loads of petrol fumes and slight loss in performance as the turbo was pushing loads of air through all the gaps in the manifold....not good

So Martin, just you & me then with proper "O" ring manifolds

puddy

ps. my throttle body is 'o'ringed also
The cometic are a stamped ally gasket with an atomic coating over it. They should never really blow out either and should be a vast improvement over the standard paper gaskets..
GT2, DazC,
The problem in with huge ports like that (it's a Nick W flowed manifold) you then have to "work" the Cometic gasket i.e. open it up too.........
In the end the O rings make more sense....as GT2 said it's common WRC practice now..........Also in Forumula 1 & touring cars they hav'nt used paper gaskets for years.

No sealent used, only the O rings (neoprene) section, front and rear.
Dont know the price yet.......
My mate said they use the same kinda things on the cossies they race abroad instead of convetional gaskets, think thats what the big BHP yank hotrods etc use dont they when they run silly power?!
