...that will do around 7-8 secs 0-60 and have decent fuel economy, say around the 40mpg mark? Needs to be for around 2k as well.
Be there isn't but figured I'd ask. Sick of what I'm paying out now and if I buy a faster car it's gonna cost me even more.
Could buy a Saxo VTS as discussed by someone else on here tonight but it wouldn't be my first choice TBH.

Have I?
fair enough. I just go in cycles. I think I've really had it now with all the money I pay out just for the car. It's starting to play on my mind all the time and really get me down

To be honest, I would take similar mpg (circa 30) if the insurance was considerably less but the 0-60 was in the right area and the car was fun to drive. Just sick of paying close to Ł200 a month for insurance.
That's why I've considered a Passat 1.8t. But they are quoted as 8.6 0-60 which seems very slow for a turbo. Could no doubt take that to Stu for some improvement but not sure how much faster it could be made without spending a lot. As for fun to drive, not sure it would be
205 1.9 Gti could be a contender but too dated IMO.
