Default Wales Rally (Review with pics)

Well once again it's was that time of year to get ready for the last round of the WRC & the last outing for the world cars....

Set off thursday night for SS2 (1st stage fri morning) with a tag along this year Kev3dr.....

After the 1st 10 cars we set off to remote service....good chance to get close to the drivers and have a chat.....
[IMG]http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h255/stickerpaul2/DSC02405.jpg

[/IMG]

We has gonna get back to the forest but we headed to Cardiff for service, we knew last year it was a total joke the way it was set up but his year was really impressive....

1st chance to see the new Focus 500, was an ugly car with achavy badge. The wrap on them were awful....

Saturday was another early start back in the forest....

My favourite car of the rally, the S11 sounds awesome...

We left the forest & back to remote service & then headed for the Halfway stage, it was getting dark so didn't take many pics....

Back to service Saturday night...

Neil Cole (Dave) getting ready for the interviews

New quarter for Jari Matti's car after his puncture

Quarter being stikaflexed on before being rivoted...

Sunday...early start & mud bath.

Next year is going to be a good season with the S2000's...

& like every year we go and watch them come back to service & pack up...

The usual hand shakes to thank the mechanics for there all year round work...

True gent....My dads new best mate.

Malcolm's mum (Pearl)

Quick walk round.....

Inside the Fiesta S2000

Enjoy...Roll on 2011

It's not Citreon's Ford have to worry about Kev, i'd say it's Skoda. Silly quick & sounds alot better than the Fiesta. Fiesta is awesome though.

Luis was just a gent, he made the effort & remembered you & said hello on more than one ocassion. There was a goon at service who i'll tell you about when i see you.

Great pics and thanks for shareing.
Gutted i missed this , esp with this being the last of the world cars.

Can anyone clarify for me , will the cars be fwd or 4wd next year ?

I know they will be a similar spec to group N / s2000 cars but thats about all the info i can find.

Great pic of Mikko's Focus with the front brake discs still glowing red in the hairpin, but is that the exhaust tail pipe glowing red as well.!?!?!?! on the exit shot.?

Surely should be that hot, that far back.?
Looks evident in a couple of pics of the Focus.

Great pics there. Wish i had gone now.

Loks like ford haven't missed a trick. Stick on number plate on the rear panel for when the rear bumper comes of very often. Hopefully most the cars will be in the workshop in 2 weeks as i'm going for a tour

The tour is superb mate, i went on it this year & saw them building the S2000 cars & got to go in Ken Blocks World Car. You wont be allowed to take pics in the workshop but you will in the museum.

I'd love to know who's bought the World Cars...probably the Irish boys.

Great pics Paul, couldn't make it up there this year, but remember seeing them up close and personal a couple years back when I was walking on the ranges near where they were running.

Thanks for sharing

Yeah i've been told it an eye opening place. Thats good to know wasn't sure if i should take the camera or not. Used to be a guy from my area that worked there but not sure if h still does.

Busy week going to the RAC for 4 days then back home and Msport the next day

Not sure who will have bought them. Money is starting to get a bit tight over the water now aswell
