Default Bottom pulley (crank) Removal S2 ERST

I have a S2 bottom end which I am rebuilding but for the life of me I cannot get the woodruff key out of the bottom pulley as the oil pump was shot on this engine. Any ideas???

Ah i see..........not taking the piss but you've removed the 19mm bolt yea?

Sometimes you get rust forming between the pulley and the shaft. SOAK it with WD40......leave it to soak in, then just give it all you can, a big blunt screw driver is usually a good help you can gently pry it forwards, once you have moved it even the smallest amount it should free off as the WD40 gets in around everything.

To remove the pulley you certainly don't need to remove the woodruff key.

Undo the bolt, and it slides off, but as i said they get rust in between them, so it might be a case of brute force and ignorance

no not the blue pulley, I need to remove the crank pulley which is driven by the cam belt so I can remove the oil pump as mine is shot.

Still the same thing. Just slides off without the removing of the key.

As Jesse says, but that pulley is always tighter, being as its for the time belt it can't have any sloppyness in it at all.

You're meant to use a puller for them but i've been lucky so far and they have pulled off by hand, i did have one which was tight and i just ended up ripping it off but it was fucked after
