go for slightly larger say 25 amp.

as chops has said, dont go loads of fine strands, but dont go for a few thick ones.

something like 19/0.3 or something like that.

yes thinwal is fine, as long as its good quality cable and a good enough amp and strand rating then it will be fine

17.5a is a bit on it's limit and will result in voltage drop over a distance.

2mm thin wall would be sufficient but protect the wiring as there isn't much insulation to protect the copper. 2mm thin wall is usually 28 strands at 0.3mm thick and is rated at 25a.

If you want thick wall cable then go for 4mm rated at 35a, 65 strands at 0.3mm, or 3mm rated at 27a, 44 strands at 0.3mm.

what i dont understand is that you can buy 17.5 amp 28strand x0.30mm and 25 amp which is 28 strand x0.30mm,how come one is higher rated when they both seem identical?

id imagine the 17.5 will be a thicker copper wire to handle the current

The reason is that the thin wall cable can dissipate heat into the atmosphere quicker than the standard thick wall cable. It stays cooler at a higher current draw than the thick wall equivelent.

I's not worth making the loom for that price. I know it's a kit and it needs assembling but I certainly couldn't make a pump loom around that price ready made.

then you will have to run a seperate wire from the fuel pump relay at the front of the car to the pump at the back as the switch...

yep .. if you do not want to use the old wire as the trigger you will hav to run a seperate wire from the fuel pump relay to trigger it ... ignition control will leave it switched on constantly...
