Default brake options behind esc cossie wheels

i've ordered a brand new set of escort cossie wheels from fords
now looking towards options for braking
this is on a mk3 fiesta btw,

i'm about to put a deposit on a set of 4pot brembo's
which disc should i use tho,

obvious esc cossie discs would be a safe bet,
but i'd prefer some 300mm st170 disc's

but would brembo 4pots on 300mm discs' fit behind cossie wheels??

thanks for your help in advance

At least on an EsCos, the options are severely limited with the std wheel. The Brembo 4 pots may not give any extra braking ability over the std caliper (4 pots aren't necessarily better than the std caliper), which may be do-able - difficult to say really unless someone has already tried this route.

On the EsCos, most people have to go for bigger wheels to fit bigger brakes that actually give better braking performance. Caliper clearance is a big issue on the std EsCos rims.

The EsCos rim is also going to be the 'wrong' offset for a Fiesta, which may lead to other issues.

A lot of our more technical members who *may* be able to advise are currently on their annual 'ring trip.

Have you tried the Fiesta Turbo forums where there may be more specific advice available?

Don't quote me on this, but if I recall correctly, the biggest disk was 300mm and that was with slimline (possibly Wilwood or Hi-Spec) calipers. I think I could have possibly gotten away with 315mm disks if using the EsCos Monte rims - but none of the options were suitable for my power..... hence I've had to go bigger wheels to fit Ap's under.

Std EsCos calipers & disks are still capable of hauling up a stage 3 Cossie, so may still be an option on a Fezzy? FiestaTurbo.com will no doubt have people who have tried various braking/wheel options, so probably worth a visit.

I rang Hispec earlier and they stated you could fit 310mm discs behind escort cossie wheels using a slimline caliper.
