Can i check if my car is low comp with a compression tester?

CHEERS EIL132 don't think ill be doing it though a bit to much mess on i going to try and catch the old man who built the engine and question him ........see what he says
Why not try this !!
Ensure a cylinder is on BDC after power stroke (ie both valves closed)
Measure accurately fluid entered into cylinder through plug hole
Then put another cylinder on TDC (compression stroke) both valves shut
Again fill up accurately with measured fluid
This will give you sufficient figures to work out CR without stripping what is a perfectly good running engine
Never tried this but the theory should work !
