Default Routine help please :)

Hi guys. First post on here so go easy haha!

Basically I've been going gym for about 8 months. And I'm in a lot better shape than I was, but want more! (like everyone I suppose)

I'm looking to start playing rugby league, so was hoping someone might have some sort of plan/routine to help with training?

Any help us greatly appreciated

CheeRS

What do you do now? and where do you want to be?

As a rugby player I would suggest compound exercises like Deadlifts & Squats. Lunges would be good as would bent over rows.

Maybe some explosive stuff too like box jumping.

Thanks for your reply.

I currently do about 30 mins cardio as a warm up, (15 mins running/sprint/jog, and 15 on cross trainer.

Then mix it up with cable flys, smith machine for chest. Dips for triceps and preacher curls etc for biceps.
Also do leg presses and lat pulls.

But doesnt seem very 'sport specific' so will try some deadlifts and squats like you said.
Weigh in at around 85kg, and can bench about 80k for 3 sets, with a spotter and some help lol.

Thanks

What position are you wanting to play? Will make a difference to your training too. If your in the line out you want speed, in the scrum its about the mass & power.

May be wise to speak to a sports coach or look into a local rugby club to see what sort of things they do.
