Me either when I first added them in recently but I could do loads when I was a skinny runt! Start off with close grip, palms facing about shoulder width as they are the easiest. Build up from there. Just do a couple or three sets at the beginning of every back workout.

That does seem to me to be the issue as the only lads I ever saw doing them were the 60 - 70 KG boys. At 105KG's I didnt have a sniff so I just blamed my own weight, rightly or wrongly.

Will try again tonight since I am now a measly 101.5.

You could do assisted pull ups. Use a stool or similar to pull yourself up and then bring yourself down unassisted really slowly. These will soon build your strength up. The negative is just as important, if not more important.

How did you get on with the above Stu. Its the normal method of getting the weights up but still takes an incredible amount of core strength. Something I am lacking. the 125lbs DB's are what 57Kgs which is what I am doing and he makes it look easy!

Also the threaded collars like you are getting dig in to your knees like a mo-fo when there is 50kgs transferred through the weight of a 1" platform!!!!!

Oh and please dont make the little hissing noises he does.

30Kgs pushed down through an area the size of a 50p piece is enough to make the eyes water, trsut me. No meat just above the knees when your legs are at 90dg.

I will do that for sure... If you lived closer we could train regular. I've got used to training on my own now as everyone lets me down. I'm off to train with someone called Dorian Yates soon, so I can show you everything he teaches me.

Where and how do you go about training with Dorian Yates, i've been looking at his blood and guts workouts on the net recently and am trying it for the 2nd week running, i'd love a session with him, the man is a legend.
