Training Wrists
What’s is the best way of training wrists, My left wrist is so much weaker its really letting me down on the bench, my wrist fails before anything else!
I done some dumbell wrist curls last night, just wondering if there is any other way of getting it stronger, I don’t want to start using wrist straps because they will then become reliant on them!
Cheers for any help, Ed

You could do Barbell curls too. Sit down on a bench with your legs infront of you, and rest your arms on your knee and roll the barbell intil it's going to fall out your hand and curl it all the way up again. This is what I do. Make sure your form is good too. I like to have my knuckles pointing into the air, so my arm is a perfect straight line all the way up. I see lots of people have their wrists bent right back and push that way, which looks very akward and straining. I know I couldn't do it that way.

Trouble is i dont need to train my right wrist because this one is already ahead of the other one and i need to get them the same!
Maybe i could just wank with my left hand for a few weeks

I think it is just not strong enough, I put a wrist strap on for my last set on the bench last night and it kept my wrist much straighter and i lifted alot better but i want to be able to do that without the help of the strap!
When benching try changing your grip so that your thumb goes the same side of the bar as your fingers.
Might help change you to a better grip. Push the bar up through the bottom of the palm of your hand, ie where your thumb muscle is (the bit that looks like a chicken drumstick).
Your wrist should be slight bent back when benching and I can't see any reason why it should give way tbh. Its just being a support, no muscles involved in holding the weight.

i used to be the same. My left wrist would always give way long before my right when doing heavy dumbell bench or shoulder press.
What worked for me was doing forearm excersises a couple of times per week and use straps on heavy sets only for a few weeks. Now i dont need them at all.
Also try some grip strength excercises. They will help to strengthen joining muscles in your lower arm as well as your forearms.
Another tip is, when doing single handed dumbell work, always lead with your weakest hand, if you fail on say rep 7 on you weakest hand, dont push past that with your stronger hand. That will encourage even size and strength gains.
