Easily done mate.

I don't doubt you for one minute because as Coldo previously said, its easy to tell the people that can do the lifts they claim. Some others are questionable. We all know how easy it is to spout whatever you want on a forum so calling a few folk out does no harm imho. So far Ed has been the only one to silence the haters and if you look back over the pages of this thread there have been some big numbers claimed.

Its all good fun though. My hat goes off to anyone that can bench over 100kgs. You, pretty much like myself, may be numb to the acheivement due to training around alot of big chaps but I still remember the years it took to get there. I've been training alot of years and still only pushing 130kgs atm. 10 easily and convincingly is good going by anyones standards.

So anyway, who's bringing the bench to Central Day??

tbh, though Kieron,

100kg in my gym is not out of place and the lads there are not that big imo,ok they don't rep it that much but 1-2 reps from them is good imo.

i have been in the gym years yes, but just been busy with work lately but getting back into it,want to put a bit more weight on myself too.

can imagine turning up at CD with a bench and plenty of weights.

Oh LOL! You're all so funny

I'm only giving people the opportunity to prove themselves thats all!

I'd be up for a PF powerlifting/strength competition. A new thread with a load of bench/deadlift/squat/overhead press?/whatever else? totals. Only count if they are video'd.

Seen it done before but dunno if there would be many people up for it here for it to be worthwhile.

That's a recipe for disaster in my opinion... Half of this forum will end up injured trying to prove themselves.

The only thing that will happen is nothing. No-one will bother.

The area is not exactly buzzing anymore.

there doing a competition at my gym at the moment, 1st one was bench your own body weight. they gave points i'e 2 points for 5 to 10 reps and 3 for 10 to 15 and so on, you got 5 chances to do it. i came second in that but one guy who could of pissed it only tried twice. he was 80kg and pushed out 33 lifts 1st time and 34 on his second. i've seen him bench 130kg which i thought was bloody impressive.
they are doing dead lift's now.

Sweet, I cant get anymore than 7 on 100

I can push up 115kg easy, but 120kg is a no go for some reason, never train for one rep max but its nice to know what you can do!

Dangerous ground but worth trying for the willy waving.

Still very strong lifts though, I'm probably 50% your bodyweight again.

It would be 3 plates if I was using an olympic bar but I have been using the one in the pic below as I change from one to the other every now and again.

That was last year though when I was benching slightly more.

Funnily enough I find I can push more with the 6ft bar ans on the olympic bench??

Definitely what I would describe as old skool stuff. A few months back I was managing 3 plates and 10 either side (Smith machine though) for around 3-4 reps. Seem to have lost my mojo a little, and struggling with 3 plates at the minute.

It wont be for long, just trying to get my cardio levels back up to a decent level, then start to bulk up again, but strictly.

Oh and my holiday is in a few weeks so a little cut for that....

Not saying its easy pal, far from it. Me and cardio just dont go together but im sticking at it, rowing and cycling in the morning before breakfast and normal weight training after work.

But like said it has taken a toll on all my lifts.

Vids or it didn't happen.

I'm still stuck on 140. Gettin between 3-6 reps out depending on how I'm feeling on the day.

Managed to press 100kgs for 20 reps this week. Well 19 + 1 slightly assisted (over zealous spotter). Tried it for an online competition that I was thinking of entering. Was going up piece of piss untill about 18/19 then I hit a brick wall. Repping out is not as easy as it looks.

Your a good size mate, doubt 140 is too far away.

Couple of pics of me last week. On a bit of a summer cut at the moment so a bit like Parker my overall size and strength have both gone down. Feel a bit "athletic" at the moment like I am wasting away.

Its all in the head though and doing mine right in!

i would prefer the athletic look tbh than the big look really, nothing wrong losing a few kg and looking like that.

looking well in the pics.

i want to put on a bit more weight as i'm only 13.5 stone, but dont want to get too heavy, cannot win.

Can't go by the scales really. I try to use the mirror more. If you get heavy but have the look you want then so be it.

Thats said I do beat myself up about losing weight. I know its not what matters but I still can't accept that I might look bigger lighter and lifting less weight. You battle to get stronger and when that dwindles away it plays with the mind.
