Thanks - I wasnt feeling it today either, i was hoping for 8 reps. I know i dont keep my arse firm on the bench all the time!
when i start to struggle i do lift, i try to arch my back like the poster says on the gym wall but keep my arse on the bench, easier said than done though

I wouldn't quite say "bum on bench" like you claimed before....! BUT! None the less, i'll give you that, impressive. Very good lifting, no doubt about it.
.... This however, since i'm the bench press police just now, i'm going to fail it. Arms never once went parallell, bar was never anywhere near touching your chest. Big weight i guess but i wouldn't say it was pressed properly (imo!)

Much respect for backing it up with the vids tho Ed!! First person to do so, so I applaud you. The only PF member in the 100 bench club as no-one else has done so. Despite the arse lifting theres no doubt you could do one laying totally flat.
F99, is that you in the vid?? What can you bench properly? 150kgs is ALOT of weight to hold arms locked let alone lower down a bit.

To be honest though, I'm not wishing to piss on your parade at all as what you have proven, I think, is still very good and I don't wish to take that away from you by nit picking about form. So I apologise for that and I can assure you that you've impressed me. You can definately see some good muscle development in your frame.

On a side note mate, you won't need that belt if you bench with your arse down. By arching you are putting pressure on the discs in your back, more so on incline imho. The arching of the back should only be minimal just to keep good posture rather than slumping your gut downwards.
But yeah, moan and pick we will.

To be fair, thats impressive going for your size. I'd personally be inclined to use a lower weight with better form, but fair play for proving you can do it. From your old pics I thought you were full of shit if I'm honest, but you can see when you're lifting you've got more build now.
I can't wait to get my army training out of the way so I can smash the weights again. I know at my new boxing weight of 69KG I couldn't rep 100 no way, but quite tempted to get my cousin spotting me and try a 5 rep on 90kg.

Yeah I agree with you, I normally rep 90kg for 10, I can keep better form with that weight, Once I get stronger my form with come with it too
Also i ache alot more when i go high reps. we do a little bench on fridays, lighter weight, more reps which i feel is much better, but all depends on what your going for.
I do like aching though

it be done, Dave, it's just rare for lads that size to genuinely rep it. As you can see from the video he is arching his back too much, lifting his arse and slightly rocking the weight and not straight up (well the vid looks that way all IMO of course) BUT he's still putting the weight up which I'm genuinely impressed with.
When your smaller like Ed and myself, small ammounts of body weight make a big difference to what u can lift. If he was 80kg it would be easier to believe as 5kg of muscle would make all the difference.

I've never said what I can lift, as I try my best to forget about the weight I am lifting, and focus on form. Ed, you could have gotten a couple more with a good spotter mate, helping you bring it up and letting you bring it down slowly by yourself.
So Coldo's 'Lies...', was a bit silly, wasn't it.

Man up Benni.
As for me calling him out being silly, it wasn't really, ED has lifted (imo) a mega impressive weight for his on bodyweight, repping bodyweight +20kg is very good going, don't see many people doing it.

What do you do instead of flat bench Benni? Flat bench is the core exercise for chest (imo).
As for not banging on about what you bench. Fair play.
Ed - Good lifting for your bodyweight mate I prefer to keep my back flat on the bench but thats only my personal preference.

Decline instead of flat mate. From what I've read, and from my own personal feelings, I do think it's better than the flat for overall chest development.

If it works for an individual though then keep at it. We are all different.

I honestly don't feel flat nowhere near as good as decline. If you was to go all technical and biological, it does put your arms at the perfect angle to fully work the chest. If I start with decline, my incline dumbell poundages have to drop right down as my chest is ruined. But like you say, were all different, from build to stance etc.

a few lads at my work have been saying that they have started using decline as their main chest excersise after watching the dorian yates blood and guts stuff where he recomends it. ive been meaning to give it a try but in the past when ive tried decline it just felt my arms were doing most of the work..

I trained chest tonight. Did 100kg for 15, 110kg for 12, 120kg for 10 no spotter. Managed 130kg for 8 and 140kg for 6 with a spotter. Last two on these sets was hard. I'm 6ft 2 and 17st 9 and no gear. Was well happy with it!! Pumped!!

I was being facetious, taking the piss. You've given two different max lifts.
I thought you got that when you amended your original reply to add in the 140.
and you are taking everything too seriously on this thread mate, like all the replies are a personal insult to you. Go with the flow dude. Either that yor you are just dying to prove yourself by forcing us to bet with you.
