Restore it to original condition if you buy it! Don't see many MK1 XR2's now and it'll be a waste cutting the back out to stick an engine in!
Buy it, restore it, sell it, then buy a standard MK1

buy it and restore it back to origional condition . All the bike engines ones that have been built never get used and get sold every few months . Might be decent on a track but not for the road

Works and plays on track
Mk1 XR2s are pure classic potential. I vote for former glory spec. That exhaust note is something special IMO. I had one 20 years ago and not many cars have come close for smile per mile.

parked on grass for 10 years its going to be rotten as anything underneath, also being a sunroof model the gutter around the sunroof drains into the sills which have small holes in them to let the water flow out, parked under a tree chances are they will have blocked up a good 9 years ago, you may get lucky, but i would put serious money on the shell being beyond economical repair but if you can get it cheap enough it would make a good source of parts and trim for the one you bought

2 new wings will cost a fortune mate plus it will need a monumental amount of welding, it'll weigh nearly 2 ton once you've finished. But if you save it from the scrap man you'll be a hero

Scrap yard is never the place for a mighty mark 1 fiesta! old fords shouldnt die!!!!, and the bike engine is no way to go, by the time you spend all the cash on the conversion you can buy a race prepped X-flow from vulcan engines that will blow the doors off of the bike engine!, plus they handle like a bag of spanners unless you spend serouis cash!, i would honestly steer away from cutting it up and putting in a bike engine go for 1.8 silver top zetec with good management and jevenny's or stick with the race X-flow plenty of power in both!, and no rear suspension issues to deal with just slam it on a set of coil overs then off you go!.
