Default Ford owner again!

Hi everyone, just thought I'd let u know I am a Ford owner again, after such models like XR3, XR3i XR2 mk1+mk2 to name but a few I was today given an H plate XR2i to play with. Going to bring her back to life again, as at the moment its a non runner but the bodywork isn't too bad in black and the interiors clean. all the EFI bits have been robbed so I'm going to slap a twin choke weber on to get it running again and a good clean up and wax. Before and after pics coming soon, I only got given it today so will take camera tommorrow

Here she is:

STILL NOT RUNNING THOUGH! - No spark.
Fitting another ECU tommorrow, that makes the list of changed parts: ECU, crank sensor and coil pack. Fingers crossed although I'm doubtful its the ECU
Still, I'm enjoying the challenge

Don't look too bad mate

Bit of work and that could clean up quite nicely

Yeah, hoping so. My mate at work is a qualified bodyshop lad so once the engines sorted we'll get some fresh metal in. Filler caps well gone as usual, and under the bodykit's a bit crusty so we're contemplating new whole rear quarters and rear panel, in theory this should be easier to do than putting new arches and a filler cap repair section in. Got use of the father in laws garage facilities too, 5 bays with lifts and welding facilities, be rude not to!

if you are goin to run it on carb , then your gonna wanna fit a manual pump and you could fit the engine loom from a 1.6s as this is the only mk3 with a coil and dizzy,.

It certainly werent my parallel parking! Although I bet I get the job of moving all the crap to get it out when it finally runs!

Yeah, thought about that and seeing as that would require a loom change I have decided to fit a new EFI loom. I have an ongoing thread about the car in tech help, whatever I do I cant get it to spark, its had all new bits so reckon it must be the wiring somewhere
On a lighter note though, I did pick these up from national day today:

Have already cleaned 1 of them and its come up a treat, they'll be going in!
