Hi, my friend has an xr2 fiesta with an rs tubo engine which has been set-up at 198bhp.

A couple of weeks ago the gearbox seal dropped out and the gearbox seized. It was not an lsd box.

Are there any decent gearboxes that will reliably cope with the power without breaking the bank?

any help will be gratefully passed on.

get a second hand seies 2 erst box you can usually pick one up for about a £100, i think one of the breakers was selling one the other day on here,try the bloke that runs the cheshire rsoc thing i cant remember his screen name but hes always got got stuff fo sale on here

Bung an S2 LSD box in and when it eventually goes pop contact Bernie at CTS as his gearboxes are the business and very fairly priced.

There's no difference between any B5 boxes... they all cope with the same power. 170 Nm iirr...

It always depends on how they're abused how long they will last. And without oil even a LSD box will surrender
