Will a CVH down pipe bolt straight on to a Zetec manifold?

And if not is there a conversion plate of some sort that I can use or is ti a case of buying a complete exhaust system for the XR2i 1.8 16v?

 

No it wont unfortunetly. You can buy a conversion plate (eBay seems to sell alot of them) but they can be pricey i.e £50+

An alternative way would be to drill/tap your head but thats usually something abit complicated for the 'average joe' so may be best getting an engine specialists to do.

Whats the reason for wanting to do this? If your going Zetec Turbo I understand but if you know of a system going cheap etc you need to ask is it really for the agro? For instance, the 1800 exhaust bore will be different than a 1600 CVH

 

I'm doing a 2.0 zetec conversion so I wont have the CVH any more. Just needed to know whether I could use the old exhaust system on it or whether I'd have to buy a new one, i.e 1.8 zetec exhaust

 

Ah I see, I thought you had the 1800 XR2i (Zetec)

Yea am afraid you need a zetec system, or possible modify a zetec manifold to fit your current system.

Thats a pitty that as I have just sold my semi-stainless Ashley system for a zetec engined SI.
