Hi there can anyone point me in the right direction with the issue I'm having with my xr3i efi.
the car starts and idles fine but under throttle its like hesitating and holding back. Really frustrating.

 

CVH EFI?

Is the engine running rough under throttle when the car is not moving? Then check the TPS.

If this is fine the MAP is the next thing to check. Just be careful: the early MAP work different, there's no voltage signal.

When both parts are fine check for the EDIS (as long as it's got an external one), the twin coil pack, the ignition leads and the spark plugs.

 

Yea cvh efi, when in neutral revs freely only in gear then it struggles

 

Usually the MAP sensor. Ford used it in all EFI vehicles back in the days. Many had different part numbers but I think most of them are the same.

 

Can you get new?

 

Doubt it.

Also get a fuel pressure gauge on there should be 3 bar iirc.

 

All sorted, was fuel pump, driving like a dream now.

 

Car was ok until recently, now in neutral it idles fine but lightly pressing throttle with revs under 2k its misses and splutters also done it when driving again light throttle under 2k.
any ideas?
