Default Desperate help needed immobiliser problems

I have recently purchased a mk5 cabriolet and need to either remove the factory immobiliser or bypass it as it’s completely knackered
A few questions
is it possible to do this ?
does anyone know how ?
Is there some kind of data sheet or instructions on how to do this ?
Just for clarity this is a 1995 mk5 ( early ) on the pats unit just before Ford started incorporating the immobiliser into the ecu
I’ve got the car stripped and full interior in the hallway and my living room is full of new parts waiting to be fitted
Got my missus ready for bin bagging me
oh god can anyone please help save my marriage 🤞

Is there a chip in the key ? Pre pats is easy enough. Pats is easy enough I’ve never had the chance to play with external pats and have only heard of it fitted to v6 mondeo’s.

There is a chip in the key
It’s definitely external pats
the whole saga in sequence is

- bought car with typical relay module gremlins
- car ran but no lights / wipers / power windows / power hood / central locking etc
- waiting for auto electrician I left the battery disconnected for 2 weeks
- put battery back on yesterday and the immobiliser light was lit permanent with or without ignition on
- electrician spent 1 hour trying to figure out why Ł60
- electrician then spent 2 hours going through the rest of the wiring to tell me everything’s fine but main fuse/relay box is knackered Ł60 again 😥
- then went and got a replacement fuse box with correct part and serial number ( NOS ) 😳
- fitted said box and now body wise the car is spot on
- now under advice of the electrician I was asked to find out a few things
1 trace the wiring from the transponder to wherever it goes it goes to a pats box behind the glovebox passengers side ( twat to get out ) 😤
2 is there some kind of way of bypassing this unit
3 exactly what does this immobiliser disable

I’m trying to find answers to these questions but above all I’d love to learn how to do this as it’s costing me a bloody fortune in electricians bills 😥🤦‍♂️
