Default MK5 Buying help

Hi, I am new to the ford scene and was wondering if someone could give me some tips. I have found a 3dr MK5 escort very cheap, with the 1.3 lt engine. I have some questions:

(1)First how hard is it to find parts?

(2)What engines I could easily(as bolt on as it can get) fit in a Mk5 Escort?

(3)Also, where can I get the handle and seal for the sunroof(as the car doesn't have one)?

(4)Lastly, the gear lever felt very loose, it centered ok and the gears went in ok, should I worry about it?

Anyone got any idea? I really need help, do not worry about using technical words, just speak your mind/experience/knowledge.

1. Very easy
2. Zetec (would be my choice), CVH Turbo, I4
3. Scrapyard for the handle, Ford for the seal
4. All MK5's do

Thanks so much for help, I didn't know were else to go this is a photo of the car. The interior is crap really, has those ugly aftermarket covers and a skull gearknob, th chrome strips are missing from both bumpers too, other than that it seems perfectly fine.

Here in Malta I have found a couple of Zetec engines for sale, complete with all the bits, like ecu, shafts, brakes, power steering and all that. I have helped a friend a couple of months ago fit a zetec(1.6) in his mk3 fiesta so I assume that it is a similar affair. the cost of the above quoted engine is about 800-900 GBP, meaning you get half a car, including the dash and part of the wiring loom. For now the 1.3 will be more than enough, all I need afterall is a daily runner and cool car, and this fits the bill perfectly.

Get a 2.0 Zetec when you deicde to do it. It's no more work than a 1.6 or 1.8 really.

The 1.8 is ok, but the 1.6 is really, really, really gutless!
