There is a chip in the key
It’s definitely external pats
the whole saga in sequence is
- bought car with typical relay module gremlins
- car ran but no lights / wipers / power windows / power hood / central locking etc
- waiting for auto electrician I left the battery disconnected for 2 weeks
- put battery back on yesterday and the immobiliser light was lit permanent with or without ignition on
- electrician spent 1 hour trying to figure out why £60
- electrician then spent 2 hours going through the rest of the wiring to tell me everything’s fine but main fuse/relay box is knackered £60 again 😥
- then went and got a replacement fuse box with correct part and serial number ( NOS ) 😳
- fitted said box and now body wise the car is spot on
- now under advice of the electrician I was asked to find out a few things
1 trace the wiring from the transponder to wherever it goes it goes to a pats box behind the glovebox passengers side ( twat to get out ) 😤
2 is there some kind of way of bypassing this unit
3 exactly what does this immobiliser disable
I’m trying to find answers to these questions but above all I’d love to learn how to do this as it’s costing me a bloody fortune in electricians bills 😥🤦♂️
